Las Nuevas is located above the pretty town of Alora, about
40 minutes drive north west of Malaga. This beautiful region of Andalucia
offers something for everyone throughout the year. The finca is ideally
located for hill walking, mountain biking, climbing, as well
as bird watching, astronomy, painting, simply relaxing or provides the perfect base from which to explore local attractions.
Walk or drive on past Las Nuevas for about a mile and you come to a
small chapel - Ermita de Las Cruces. This is the highest
point in this area where you can enjoy fantastic views towards El Chorro,
El Torcal, Malaga and across the sea to Africa.
The Lakes at Garganta del Chorro provide a stunning oasis forty minutes drive north west of Las Nuevas through some lovely countryside. Supporting a whole
host of wildlife, they make an idyllic spot for fishing, swimming or boating.
The sheer cliffs at El Chorro offer a world-class location
for climbing, caving and other outdoor pursuits.
Malaga is a lively city centred around a busy port - the old
town offers a maze of cobbled medieval streets, the Picasso Museum, the Alcazabar, old buildings steeped in
history and typical tavernas. The new town offers bars, restaurants
and some great shopping.
The Costa del Sol stretches for 160 kilometres to the east and
west of Malaga. It offers magnificent beaches catering for sun
soakers, watersports enthusiasts, naturists and celebrity spotters, and enthusiasts will know that you are never far away from a golf course.
A little further afield you can visit ... Ronda famous for it's
spectacular bridge over the river which connects the medieval and 18th century
parts of the town ... Granada, most famous for the Alhambra palaces
and gardens, offers an insight into moorish heritage ...Sierra
Nevada is Spain's highest mountain range (3,482 m) and is situated within
a two and a half hour drive of Las Nuevas. The skiing season runs from December until
spring and day trips can be arranged during your stay with us. In the summer and autumn months the area is ideal for walking,
hiking, cycling and climbing ... Sevilla, the capital of Andalucia,
lies west of Las Nuevas. It is one of the
most romantic cities in Spain and offers a wonderful world of fiestas,
genuine gypsy flamenco, ancient streets lined with orange trees, flower-filled
balconies, and tapas bars.
